Manchester City’s Kolo Toure claims Arsenal target Gervinho to be the next Samuel Eto’o
Manchester City defender and formal http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kolo-c21278 Toure has gone on to label Gunner’s target, Gervinho as the next Samuel Eto’o.
Both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 and Toure play together on the international stage for Ivory Coast and as a result, Toure seems to know the forward quite well.
Toure made these claims about Gervinho only days after the twenty four year old forward was named Ivorian player of the year.
When talking about the Lille forward, Toure is quoted to have said:"Gervinho is very skilful, he’s young, swift and technical"
"I call him the next Samuel Eto’o. He merits being Cote D’Ivoire’s player of the year and I hope he will roll out another brilliant season. I pray he joins a club where he could express his talent more to the world."
Toure seems to have some sort of a liking developed for the Lille forward, as in a recent auction, the City defender went on to place the highest bid on the forwards jersey, in order to win the auction (The money was then given to a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Charity-c38784, to help a public
hospital improve its services).
Both the Ivorian players are youth products of the Abidjan-based football academy, Mimosifcom. The academy has also seen the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salomon-Kalou-c32266 and Yaya Toure.
Gervinho has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal and the forward seems to be on the verge of completing a move to the Emirates in the near future.
The Lille forward has been in fine form lately and this past season, he helped the French club win the league and cup double, which marked a new chapter in the history of the club.
Due to his exhilarating performances during the season, it became apparent that the winger would be pursued by some of the biggest names in Europe. The race to land the forward started with a number of clubs, but Arsenal are now the only team left in the
running to land the Ivorian international.
At the moment, a fee of around eleven million pounds is rumoured to be the price that both the clubs have agreed upon.
Gervinho could prove to be just the player that Arsenal need upfront. The forward has quick feet, a habit of scoring goals and almost always giving his team a hundred percent. Based on those attributes, we could state that Gervinho has some similarities
with Eto’o. However, Eto’o is an all out striker, while Gervinho is more of a winger/striker.
Nonetheless, it seems like what Toure was basically trying to say, was that Gervinho is going to be a great addition to his former club.
