Manchester City centre back Kolo Toure has played down his recent brawl with teammate Emmanuel Adebayor, insisting the bust-up was “not that negative.”
Toure and Adebayor were at each other in the training ground and had to be pulled apart by teammates and their manager.
“It was a bust-up because of a hard tackle,” said Toure. “We both lost it but it was quickly calmed down. Other players and the manager came to separate us. It's already forgotten. In any case, with Adebayor it's not the first
time and it won't be the last.”
The two did not become teammates only at City; they were also part of Arsene Wenger’s rostrum at Arsenal a couple of years ago. The central defender and centre forward were regular first-team starters.
“At Arsenal we often had a similar set-to,” Toure added. “We know each other well, maybe too well. In any case that proves we have energy to burn. It's not that negative.”
The brawl also got all the more attention because Manchester City are set to face Arsenal tonight, making for an interesting build-up to the match for the media to rave about.
Heated moments between teammates in sport are not very uncommon, and it’s safe to assume that such disagreements are all part of the game. However, bearing in mind that Adebayor is already reported to be unhappy at Manchester City,
combined with the fact that his future with the club is under speculation, it is possible the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Togo-c3022 international might have something different to say about the matter. Could it be built-up frustration from a man that has found it hard to get some first-team
playing time?
Hopefully, a win against Arsenal might restore some much needed calm at Manchester City.
