Manchester City midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nigel-de-Jong-c27882 looks all the more likely to be on his way out of the club at the end of the current Premier League season, should he fail to agree to the terms of a new contract.
It is being reported that Manchester City are looking to cut down on their losses and in order to do so, they are looking to part ways with a number of their players.
One of the players who seems to be on top of the list of people who are on their way out of the club is Dutch international, Nigel De Jong.
The holding midfielder is reportedly having issues with agreeing to terms to a new contract and as a result, City are looking to offload him to anyone who is willing to pay for his services.
De Jong went on to reject an offer by Manchester City earlier on in the season, as the player feels that he needs to play more first team football, instead of just being paid more.
Given the number of midfielders that City now possess, it is close to impossible for the team to ensure the player ninety minutes on a regular basis.
The initial plan made by the team was to let go of the player in January. However, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Owen-Hargreaves-c28918 picking up another injury, the team decided to keep a hold of the midfielder till the end of the
season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 has also hinted on a number of occasions that he would not be looking to buy any new players, till he offloads the dead weight at the club.
Based on those comments and the way De Jong has been treated at the club, it seems like he might be considered to be in the list of players, who are surplus to the team’s needs.
Nonetheless, City are going to have to wait around, till someone comes forth and makes an offer to take the player off their hands, or they could be left with another player, whose career is jeopardised by City and their mentality.
