Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini, has claimed that he does not care what goes on in the Premier League prior to his side’s FA Cup final encounter against Stoke City on Saturday, the May 14. His comments come with the knowledge that bitter rivals
Manchester United could be celebrating their coronation as Premier League champions just minutes before the final kick-off at Wembley Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp earlier wrote that Satuday’s schedule was ridiculous, and Roberto Mancini, who will take charge of the most important game in his managerial career in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 on the day, agrees.
The clash in the schedule has been caused by UEFA’s insistence that no match should be played at the venue of the UEFA Champions League final in the two weeks leading up to it. Both that encounter and the final of the FA Cup are to be held at Wembley. However,
instead of moving all Premier League matches on the 14thof May to another date, officials have decided to hold some in the afternoon.
One of those is the encounter between Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and Manchester United. The Red Devils need just a point from their final two games to ensure their place as the Champions of the 2010/11 Premier League campaign. With the form Sir Alex’s men are in,
it is not inconceivable that they might wrap up the season in Saturday’s match.
The fact that the Premier League champions could be crowned just before the start of the FA Cup final will take some of the gloss off the spectacle, but Mancini claims that it will not bother him personally.
Speaking on the matter, the Italian said, “I read what Redknapp said about this situation. It is the first time I have seen this and I will be focused on the game anyway, so it doesn't really affect me. But I understand the cup is very important and it is
not good to play other games on the same day."
Manchester City and Stoke City will face off in the final of the FA Cup at Wembley on the 14th of May.
