Manchester City forward, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-Maradona-c11160 is a secret City supporter.
Argentine international, Sergio Aguero when talking about the players who he admired while growing up went on to highlight Manchester United striker, Michael Owen.
The striker has revealed that he used to follow the former Liverpool closely during the 1990’s and admired the way the English side played with Owen.
However, Aguero went on to insist that he was never a fan of Liverpool, but just really liked to watch Owen play. He even admitted that he watched Owen score a brilliant goal against Argentina in the 1998 World Cup and instead of feeling disappointed, he
was thrilled to have watched such a fantastic goal get scored in front of his eyes.
When talking about Owen, the striker is quoted to have said: "I’m not so much a fan of Liverpool, but one of the players who was my idol when I was a boy was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355"
"He was quite small and had an eye for goal, just like me. When http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 were winning trophies, I was looking out for them because Owen was doing well.”
Aguero then went on to reveal that his father-in-law, Diego Maradona is also a secret fan of Manchester City and keeps asking Aguero about how it is to play for the team.
When talking about Maradona, the striker went on to add: "He follows me pretty closely"
"He always wants to know how we are getting on, and we keep in regular contact through text messages.”
It is perhaps not odd to see just why Aguero plays the way he does for City. Considering he used to look up to Owen, it is easy to see how the young striker shaped his game around what he saw.
Aguero possesses the same pace and eye for goal that Owen once did and should he continue to perform for City the way he has been doing, he could be as crucial for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841, as Owen once used to be.
It is now up to Aguero to decide just how far he wants to take his career.
