Manchester City's striker dilemma with Santa Cruz considering transfer (Part 2)
It is expected that whenever Santa Cruz leaves Manchester City, it will be an expensive transfer. City is sure to cash in on their player, and Mancini would be looking forward to bring in some more talented players to the club.
Reports suggest that Mancini has already planned a transfer for Cruz and there is a good chance the deal will go through in the January. One thing is for sure though, Santa Cruz will not regret leaving the Citizens’.
However he won’t be the only one leaving the club this winter. Speculation has long surrounded the future of Italian striker Mario Balotelli, who now seems set to leave the club on a season-long loan.
While his performances at Inter Milan and Manchester City have been outstanding, there are constant question marks over his temperament. So far he has scored five goals in eight games for Manchester City, but has struggled to get into the first team.
Gaining experience is vital for the young player, and so it might be wise for him to go on a season-long loan and mature more. If such an arrangement is made, Mancini will be quite happy since he will have a more experienced player at his disposal next season.
Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor is another player who is out of favour for the Citizens. Last season he was in impeccable form, but as competition for places increased his form slowly declined, and he was used less frequently.
At the moment he is being used a as substitute, so it is expected that he too will be making a move at the turn of the year. The player has already been linked with Italian side Juventus, and it is expected that the club are very keen to sign him.
Manchester City skipper Carlos Tevez could also be on his way out of the club, because of his bust up with manager Roberto Mancini, after he was substituted during the 1-0 win over Bolton earlier this month. This is only the latest in a long line of controversies
Tevez has been involved in during his time in England. His case is not clear yet, whether he will be leaving this fall or in the summer but nonetheless he is leaving.
This will be a big blow for City, as they will not only be losing their highest goal scorer but also their skipper. The Citizens will certainly be looking for a new player who can match the skill and determination of Tevez, who has almost become a cult figure
at Eastlands during his short stay there.
