Eden Hazard extends contract with OSC Lille
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Eden-Hazard-c11863 recently signed an extension of his contract with Ligue 1 side OSC Lille, which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2015 season. This recent development will surely disappoint a host of clubs who were interested
in signing the 20-year-old player in the summer.
English Premier League top sides Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United were in close competition with La Liga giants Real Madrid to land the player at the end of the season.
Even though the new contract doesn’t necessarily mean the player will definitely stay with Lille until 2015, Lille coach Rudi Garcia took it as a good sign. Garcia said while speaking to reporters, “If Eden has signed an extension it's because he wants to
be with us. It's a strong signal.”
However, that may not be the case at all. The new deal guarantees to increase his value from the probable €15-20 million he was previously estimated to be worth before the deal was agreed upon.
Despite the new contract, Hazard did not leave out the possibility that he could be making a move elsewhere. The 20-year-old midfielder said in an interview, “I'm with Lille 100 per cent. I'm keen [to remain with Lille] but in football nothing is certain.
There are still three months to play. I will tackle them all with my heart and we'll have time to talk afterwards.”
The youngster previously admitted of his wish to play in the Premier League and a move in the future to any of the three sides seems inevitable.
Robbie Fowler to possibly join Preston
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/North-Queensland-Fury-c40080 and Perth Glory. The 35-year-old is linked with a move to Preston North End and the club’s manager Phil Brown
admitted there was a possibility of signing Fowler.
Brown said while speaking to reporters, “He is a possibility; in terms of I'd have to see the lad, find out what the financial situation is. The chairman has said to me that there is the finance to bring another loan player or two in, so it just depends
what Robbie brings to the party. If he brings something to the party, then yes, it is a possibility.”
However, Brown admitted that the move was not concrete as yet and that the deal was still in its initial stages. He revealed he had yet to meet the player himself but there were regular talks over the phone. Brown said he would welcome Fowler to the squad
if he felt the player had something to offer.
