Manchester United' striker Wayne Rooney pulls a hamstring injury, a day before the UEFA Champions League clash against Schalke' 04
Latest reports from Old Trafford have revealed new injury news of Manchester United’s world class striker, Wayne Rooney.
It has been reported that Rooney has succumbed to yet another hamstring injury but the extent of damage is currently unclear so the time the striker would be unavailable has not been confirmed till now.
The Red Devils’ medical team has confirmed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 is out of action currently. He is under medical care and is restricted to bed rest but further examinations will clear out how serious the injury is.
Rumour has it that Sir Alex Ferguson would not want to risk his prized possession in the 2nd leg Champions League encounter against Schalke’ 04 this Wednesday, 4th May.
After a terrible start to the season, Rooney picked up his form which Fergie would want on the pitch for the clash.
This could see the Scotsman ordering Rooney to the bench. Manchester United is already two goals up in the bout and expected to come out as victors yet again.
The English international, Rooney, missed the first 15 minutes of training at Carrington this Tuesday. Later manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, confirmed that Rooney was experiencing some tightening in his thigh so he was sent to the medical team.
The medical team soon updated with the first injury report, sending Rooney in for further scans and exams. A final assessment will be presented on Wednesday morning.
Rooney has made a superb comeback this season after injuries, lack of form and disastrous personal affairs. Now the striker is providing assists and scoring goals like a machine.
In the match against Schalke at Gelsenkirchen last week, he scored the second goal, helping United to a 2-0 victory.
