Manchester United's winger Ryan Giggs hails the in-form Wayne Rooney
Manchester United's veteran winger, Ryan Giggs, has hailed Wayne Rooney’s impressive return to form after the English striker helped United overcome Schalke 04 by two goals in the away leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final.
Wayne Rooney was the stand out performer against Schalke 04 as he assisted Ryan Giggs for the first goal and scored the second goal of the night to mark a dominating win over the Germans. It was Rooney’s third goal of the UEFA Champions League and Ryan Giggs
was very impressed by the extraordinary performance of the 25-year-old striker.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 won the Player of the Year (PFA) award last year for scoring 34 goals in 44 matches, but failed to find his goal-scoring form in the first half of the ongoing 2010-11 season. It seems like the English striker has finally come back to his best
after he scored a hat-trick in historic comeback win over West Ham United in March and also scored the winner against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
However, Ryan Giggs claims Wayne Rooney has been essential member of Manchester United’s hunt for the trophies this term and has insisted that the English striker peaked at the most important time of the ongoing 2010-11 season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985 told the reporters, “The top players perform when the trophies are about to be handed out. They produce moments of inspiration when it matters. Wayne has done that time and time again over the years, so it was hardly a shock he was superb against
Schalke.”
Moreover, Ryan Giggs believes that Manchester United peaked just at the right moment of the season and has asserted that United have the quality to win the big games. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men will now play away against Arsenal before hosting Schalke for the
second leg.
Giggs added, “The idea is to be playing big game after big game at this stage of the season because it means you are amongst the big trophies and going for the league. Hopefully we can get as good as a result and put on as good a performance as we did against
Schalke.”
A win for Manchester United over Arsenal would put them one step closer to winning the record 19th Barclays Premier League title.
