Manchester United Glory Hunters??????

Is that everyones excuse for Manchester United having soo many fans is that most of them are glory hunters??

There is no such thing as a glory hunter and even if there were they wouldn't support Man United they would go for Real Madrid (31 La Liga, 9 CL etc..)

Thats the lamest excuse i've ever heard, and what's even lamer than that is that people say that most of Man United's supporters are not in England but they are in Asia and China, and so that they are all glory hunters and that Man United aren't very well supported in England. I think that that shows that Man United is supported WORLD WIDE and is a GLOBAL team which is a much better thing than all other English clubs which are only supported from fans inside England.!!!

  1. Man utd is the best club and its obvious that that they would have the largest fan clud.

  2. yup most of them are glory hunters, you think if they werent winning all the time anyone outside of manchester would support them?

  3. china is the most populated country in the world.... so all man-utd had to do was keep one chinese player in their squad, only to attract supporters...... why do u think most korean and chinese people support man-utd??

sure, i agree with u.... there are a lot of man-utd fans in england... only 'cuz they want to support a winning team... a lot of people support arsenal, 'cuz of their style of playing football.... not 'cuz they have asian players in the squad...

PS: there are a lot of arsenal supporters in asia who just cant get enough of arsenal's attacking football...........

  4. Let me tell you why most Indians support Man Utd.  India (Second highest population in the world).

    1. The sports channel in India (ESPN, STAR SPORTS, Ten Sports) shows only EPL, Spanish Premiera and Seria A but becuase of timezone difference most people only watch EPL matches (In our timezone Between 7:00 PM - 10:30 PM). For Spanish Premira we have to wake up till 2:00 AM and not many people watch those matches.

    2. Man Utd is most successful EPL team. I am not talking about CL because if i will talk about CL then Real Madrid is the most successful team. But again EPL is more popular in India than CL because we get to watch EPL matches every weekend and again the timezone different problem.

    3. Last and most important reason DAVID BECKHAM. When i was kid, like most Indians i din't know who the h**l is Gerrard,  Bergkamp, Henry, Contana. Only thing i knew was David Beckham and he plays for Man Utd. People din't know the name of other EPL clubs except Man Utd and supported the club only because of him.

  5. I agree with you. Manchester United have the most fans worldwide because they have bright past and present. Their style of playing is exciting, also many football legends have played for this club, so no surprise that they are supported everywhere.

But hopefully the future is for Chelsea!

Btw what was your previous nickname?

  6. i agree.

i hate being called a glory supporter.

im from round the corner to old trafford and have supported them since i was a foetus.

oh and the arsenal supporter at the top, FYL, Ji sung park is korean. not chinese. get it right.

so all u haters: SOD OFF :)

  7. How is there no such thing as a glory hunter?

Someone who supports a team just because they are winning for example Gretna Fans! (Rip)

  8. Prior to the treble, ManUnited and most of the clubs in England were virtually unknown outside of Europe(Maybe an overstatement, but the Italian and Spanish teams were far bigger). Because of ManUTD's aggressive marketing policy, they now have the biggest fan base. Why? Because they recruit Asian players into their squad just to sell shirts. They also target a lot of their marketing at the Asian Market, with promotions, and tours. Park might have his uses here and there, but ultimately his main purpose is to sell shirts. A player like Dong, who made 3 appearances in 4 years is another player who was exploited to sell shirts. This is why ManUTD are generally looked down upon in this department. The other English teams might have their glory hunters but at least they aren't using players like this.

You sound like a gloryhunter - no offence

@Nick, known 50 years ago yes. But were people spending money on ManUTD Merchandise? No.

  9. I'm from Manchester who the h**l else am I gonna support!!

@rere sorry mate but Im guessin your quite young Manchester United and Liverpool have had worldwide fame since the 50's and 60's

@rere Manchester United merchandise particularly shirts were unavailable until 1972 and even then it wasnt a popular thing to do for any club. Todays football is a business unfortunately and the sooner we all come to accept that then we can move on.
