Manchester United Interested In Napoli Stars
Reports reveal that Manchester United are interested in Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik of Napoli. Sir Alex Ferguson is well aware that the top players are of the older generation and will be retiring or leaving soon. He is also determined to have more striking
options after the whole Wayne Rooney drama, the England international almost left but in the end, signed a new contract.
Despite staying, Rooney picked up another injury and will be out for at least three months. Three months means that United will have to be without their star striker and depend entirely on Berbatov, who has proved to be inconsistent on many occasions. He
is somewhat of an underachiever and even though he has won the match for United on countless occasions, Ferguson wants more options.
Cavani is top of their list; the Uruguay international has been excellent since he joined Napoli from Palermo this summer and has an efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 108.5 minutes this season. The 23 year old striker is quick and has a natural
ability to score goals; he is contracted to Napoli until the end of 2014-2015 season and is valued at around €20 million.
Hamsik, the Slovakian attacking midfielder is also being watched closely by the Manchester United boss. The young midfielder is just what Manchester United need to boost their attack, that is one of the few things lacking from their squad this season. The
Slovakian international has been blessed with excellent vision for someone his age.
He has displayed an eye for goal and does not shy away from taking a chance at a risky shot. Hamsik has an amazing technique, which has impressed the United boss. His crosses and dribbling skills are just part of the package that Hamsik offers. He has an
efficiency ratio of a goal or assist every 174.8 minutes this season and is valued at €20 million.
These young players would like nothing more than a move to one of the biggest clubs in the world, Manchester United. But if they are to be benchwarmers at Old Trafford then maybe they should think twice before they sign away their careers. It remains to
be seen how United will cope without their star striker and will eventually determine how much they will be spending in the January transfer window.
