Manchester United make €40 million bid for Pastore
Recent reports reveal that English Premier League giants Manchester United have made a €40 million bid for Javier Pastore, the 21-year-old Palermo playmaker. Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini is not ready to lose the Argentine International just yet,
and has therefore placed a €70 million price tag on his side’s star player. Pastore is contracted to the Serie A side until the 2014 season.
Even with his side facing a terrible slump, the youngster has remained consistent, scoring 11 goals and setting up five so far this season, which has given him an estimated efficiency ratio of a goal or an assist ever 161 minutes.
Tottenham Hotspur put £50 million price on Luka Modric
It has been reported Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp is determined to keep out-of-favor midfielder Luka Modric. The 25-year-old has made it clear he wishes to leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season because of lack of first team opportunities
but Redknapp thinks the playmaker has a future with the Spurs.
In order to keep suitors away, Redknapp has put a £50 million price tag on Modric, which makes him too expensive for most clubs. A source close to the club revealed, “Both manager and chairman are h**l-bent on keeping Luka at White Hart Lane. It would take
at least £50 million to tempt them to sell this summer.”
Modric arrived at the London club in 2008 for €21 million but because of lack of consistency he could not cement a place in the first team. Since then he has not had too much opportunity to impress, which is why he’s looking for an exit at the end of the
season. However, he is contracted to the Spurs until 2014 and the new price tag will ensure he can’t leave.
Manchester City eye Manchester United target Jack Rodwell
Reports have emerged that Manchester City are preparing to snatch http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043’s Jack Rodwell, a long term Manchester United target. Sir Alex Ferguson is known to be an admirer of the youngster and was planning to bring him to Old Trafford at the end of the season.
He will now have to compete with big spending City to sign the 19-year-old in the summer transfer window.
Everton boss David Moyes is aware Rodwell is a star in the making and wants to keep him at the club. However, financial trouble at the club could force him to sell the Englishman to the club which agrees to the £30 million price tag. Rodwell is contracted
to Everton until the end of the 2015 season but could be moving to Manchester soon.
