Manchester United boasting strong line-up against Southampton
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed a strong line-up for their FA Cup fixture against Southampton, despite being without a couple of first team starters at the side.
Goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar has been on holiday for the weekend while French left back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 is out of action owing to a family grief. Brazilian young right back Rafael Silva has been given complete rest, following the concussion he suffered while
playing against Blackpool on Tuesday.
However, United have confirmed that midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Carrick-c25282 has made his recovery from the ankle concern and has resumed full training. Therefore, he is highly likely to take part in the Southampton fixture.
“Michael will train today and hopefully he will be okay to travel. We picked up one or two bruises at Blackpool the other night - it was quite a physical game, but we’ll still take a strong squad because it won’t be an easy match; away games in cup ties
never are,” stated the Manchester United manager.
Ferguson added that he was present in the crowd for Southampton’s fixture against Oldham and the side managed a 6-0 win. Therefore, the manager refused to take things easy and has decided to choose his best eleven from the available lot. The tough decision
to make for Sir Alex would be the choice of goalkeeper. Newly signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tomasz-Kuszczak-c35329 would be the obvious choice, as United go
on the hunt to find the long-term replacement for Edwin Van Der Sar.
