Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson looking up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Owen-Hargreaves-c28918 to strengthen midfield
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson sets his sights for perhaps a ‘longer’ stay on the field for the injury-prone Owen Hargreaves.
The Scotsman hopes that the number 4 returns in time to give him some much-needed backup for his depleting midfield list.
While Ferguson has been known to get the best out of the resources that he already has, the manager faces an uphill battle to string a compatible line-up owing to injuries to key midfield players in the form of Anderson, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Park-Ji-Sung-c29147 and in-form winger Luis
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345 recently made available for selection after being sidelined for seven months, the Scot is weary of the fact that the former Wigan player will take time to regain match fitness.
In comes Owen Hargreaves to the picture. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international who had to undergo surgery on both knees and has not been able to start a game for the Club in two years could still be on his way to ‘finally’ shake off the longer-than-expected hamstring
injury that he picked up in November 2010 that cut his comeback against Wolverhampton Wanderers to mere minutes.
When asked about Hargreaves’ importance for the Manchester United cause, Ferguson admitted that the versatile midfielder has been a great loss for the side.
Owing to the Premier League club’s trust and patience vested into the former Bayern Munich player, it appears that Hargreaves is ready to pay back.
Ferguson revealed, “From what we're told he's coming back from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and he's going to start training on Monday with us so we'll wait and see. He's been a loss but there's nothing you can do about it. Up until the last couple of weeks we haven't really
needed him.”
Concluding with his team’s all for one and one for all attitude, the Red Devils’ boss said his players have been ever ready to step up whenever the club needed them to.
“We've had plenty of options in the middle of the park but we've coped OK. Antonio Valencia's been out for most of the season but Nani has progressed because of it. He's been terrific. Sometimes that happens. You lose a player and someone else steps up,”
added the Scot.
With Manchester United already sitting pretty at the top, the launch pad is set for Hargreaves to come back and make his mark.
