Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson rules out http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 move – Serie A Transfer Update
Manchester United boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, has revealed that he will not be spending anymore in the ongoing summer transfer window. The United manager ruled out the possible move for the Dutchman, Wesley Sneijder, who is currently playing for the Serie A
giants http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan.
The Nerazzurri playmaker was reckoned to be the top choice of the English outfit on the list of players to be acquired. United midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394, retired after the 2010/11 season, leaving a key place vacant in the Red Devils midfield. Sneijder, by
many, was considered to be the best replacement available on the summer transfer market and a 35 million Euros bid was reckoned to be enough to convince the Nerazzurri into letting go of their asset.
The list also included players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 of Tottenham hotspur. Both the midfielders were under consideration to fill in the vacant space created in the Old Trafford midfield.
However, Sneijder was identified as the best option available and the former United star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432, also suggested his childhood club to lure the Dutch playmaker to Old Trafford.
Sneijder’s future is unclear after the arrival of Gian Piero Gasperini at San Siro as the new head coach. The tactician is known to play a non-traditional 3-4-3 formation on the field which minimizes the role of playmakers. In this scenario, Sneijder would
be forced to play in the central midfield, out of position.
However, Sir Alex does not look keen to take advantage of the situation, as he has revealed that no new players will be brought in ahead of the 2011/12 season.
“At this moment, I can’t see another addition. The type of player we might have been looking for is not available. I am happy with the players I have got at this moment in time.” Sir Alex has been quoted as saying.
The legendary manager spent around 50 million Euros in the transfer market to sign defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-de-Gea-c10463 from Atletico Madrid and former Aston Villa winger Ashley Young.
