Sir Alex Ferguson is the most successful manager in the history of English football, having led Manchester United to a remarkable 35 major trophies during his 25-year plus reign at Old Trafford. United are currently on track to win a record 19th
Premier League crown, a feat that no other club has ever achieved. If Sir Alex can lead the Red Devils to that milestone, it will further cement his reputation as a true legend.
In fact, the Premier League title is not the only thing Sir Alex has in his sights in the ongoing 2010-11 season. United are competing for the FA Cup and Champions League crowns as well, putting them on track to winning a possible treble. It is a position
that is not unfamiliar to Sir Alex Ferguson. The United boss won the treble with the Red Devils once back in 1999.
What’s remarkable about the club’s position is that the current United squad is regarded as one of the weakest in recent memory. To compound things, Sir Alex Ferguson has had to deal with a laundry list of injuries to his players all season. The fact that
Manchester United still find themselves challenging for the treble speaks volumes for Sir Alex Ferguson’s tactical abilities and managerial skills.
Manchester United currently sit at the summit of the Premier League standings, five points ahead of closest rivals Arsenal.
