Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson warns Chelsea about Wayne Rooney backlash
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has sent a warning to Chelsea that they will witness an extra-motivated Wayne Rooney in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final at Old Trafford.
Ferguson claimed Rooney will release his frustration against Carlo Ancelotti’s men after the striker was handed a two-match ban by the Football Association following his use of abusive language during United’s historic comeback win over West Ham United two
weeks ago.
Sir Alex Ferguson said, “There's absolutely no doubt this will spur on Wayne. We've got a great motivation now. There is the bonus for us of knowing he will be fit and fresh for Tuesday's match.”
