Manchester United bring Thailand international in on trial
Manchester United, quite possibly the biggest team in England, have recently been hit with a killer blow in the form of the age of their players. Most of the star players at the team like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, aren’t getting any younger any faster
and as the days go by, they are nearing their retirement age.
Along with those two midfield magicians, another player who is on the verge of calling it quits is Manchester United’s veteran shot stopper Edwin Van Der Sar. The former Holland international, has been one of the best keepers to play at the club, however
his age is getting the better of him.
Manchester United have been in a red hot search to sign a keeper over the last couple of weeks. There search has turned them towards the Thai international Kawin Thamsatchanan. The only reason the team considered giving the player a trial was due to the
recommendation of the teams former Captain, Bryan Robson who is the current manager of the Thai national team.
Thamsatchanan who is currently only twenty years old, is employed by the local side Muangthong United and due to his brilliant performances in the league has managed to get a promotion to the national side.
Robson who was also highly impressed with the youngster, was well aware of the keeper shortage that United were facing and as a result he recommended the keeper to Alex Ferguson.
The manager took what the former player had to say and allowed the keeper to come in for a trial period.
If the keeper manages to prove his worth during these trial sessions, then United could potentially have a new twenty year old shot stopper as early as next month.
United were in the past linked to a wide array of goal keepers, such as the likes of the Atletico Madrid keeper David De Gea, however realizing that the young teenager might not be an option till too late, the team started looking elsewhere. It was down
to mere luck and timing that they managed to lure the Thai international in for a trial.
Most of the teams fans, along with pretty much all of Thailand will be hoping the player does brilliantly so United can sign their first ever player from Thailand.
The capture of the player would also prove to be rather good for the team, considering he is only twenty years old at the moment, which means that he has plenty of time to adopt to the English style of play and will easily be able to give United around ten
to fifteen seasons.
All in all this sudden interest by United in the keeper could prove to be just what the team needs, to start their much awaited overhaul.
