Sir Alex Ferguson determined to bring http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Rodwell-c17462 to Old Trafford
Sources reveal that Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is set to launch a £15 million bid for Jack Rodwell, the 19-year-old Everton midfielder. This will be Ferguson’s second attempt to bring the youngster to Old Trafford after his first offer for
Rodwell was rejected by Everton boss David Moyes in the January transfer window.
Moyes was determined to retain the services of the midfielder for this season which is why he rejected the bid by Manchester United. However, he might be tempted to sell the player during the summer if the right price is offered, especially since Everton
are facing a serious financial crisis.
Ferguson is desperately looking for suitable replacements for Manchester United legend http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Valbuena-c24690, the 26-year-old French international.
Harry Redknapp denies Modric-United link
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insisted midfielder Luka Modric would not be making a move to Manchester United anytime soon despite rumors linking the player to the English Premier League giants. The 25-year-old is reportedly being lined up by Sir Alex Ferguson
as a possible replacement for Paul Scholes.
Modric arrived at White Hart Lane in 2008 from Dinamo Zagreb for a fee of £16.6 million and since then has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League. He was an essential part of the Spurs side that qualified for the Champions
League and Redknapp revealed he planned to keep him at the club.
The Spurs boss said the player would be staying at club despite strong interest from United, he said while speaking to reporters, “If we want to build a club and compete to get in the Champions League every year we have to keep our best players. He's such
a fantastic player for us. You can't replace people like him.”
Redknapp was full of praise for the Croatian international, he continued, “He's not just a great player; he's a special person as well. He comes in every day and gets on with his job. He never gives you a problem. He's a quiet man off the pitch. He's amazing.”
Modric is not the only Tottenham player to attract interest from Europe’s elite recently, 21-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 is another player who is a prime target for many clubs in the upcoming summer transfer window. Harry Redknapp though is determined to retain
his in-form players and has started warding off interest by putting ridiculously high price tags on his players.
