Manchester United clinches a record 19th English Premier League title with a 1-1 draw against Blackburn
Manchester United has made millions of Red Devils’ fans overjoyed by clinching their 19th English Premier League title, after a 1-1 draw against Blackburn on Saturday, 14th May, which have extended their lead to an unsurpassable 77
points. They have now outclassed Liverpool with whom they shared the previous record of 18 EPL titles.
The proper celebrations will start in a few days since the Red Devils still have one more match left against Blackpool.
The Red Devils must be feeling extremely joyful as the draw against Rovers has helped them in becoming the most successful club on English soil, breaking Liverpool’s record of 18 League titles.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United, that only needed one point to take the Championship title away from their bitter rivals, Chelsea, succeeded in earning that point when Wayne Rooney blasted the ball past Blackburn goalkeeper from the spot in the 73rd
minute.
After starting poorly this season, Wayne Rooney has now extended his Premier League goal scoring tally to 10 for the 2010-11 season.
Sir Alex Ferguson must be a proud man, helping the Red Devils win their 12th Premier League title under his leadership. Ferguson will leave Old Trafford on a high note if he retires at the end of this season.
However, Ferguson will think that the job is not over yet, as he will be eyeing to help United their second title of the season in the shape of UEFA Champions League.
