Manchester United close to signing Raphael Varane; Celtic boss Neil Lennon eyes Fraser Forster move
United close to signing Varane
Manchester United are close to signing the Lens defender, Raphael Varane, according to reports in the media.
The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the best emerging defenders on the continent and has become a regular member of the Lens side at just
18 years of age. The French U-21 international has made 20 appearances for the club this season and has been solid in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904.
Manchester United scouts have monitored Varane on a regular basis and have held talks with the French side. Lens have asked for 10 million
Pounds for the defender’s services but United are unwilling to oblige and after the French side being relegated from the Ligue 1, it is highly likely that they would be forced to sell their prized asset.
United understand the interest of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 manager, Arsene Wenger, in the player, so they want to wrap up the deal at the earliest. On the
other hand, Varane’s only concern is that he might not be given a first-team opportunity at Old Trafford, owing much to the availability of world class defenders in United’s ranks.
The player’s versatility of playing in different defensive positions will tempt Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson to wrap up the deal quickly.
Lennon eyes Forster deal

Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, has admitted that he wants to sign the on-loan Newcastle United goalkeeper, Fraser Forster, on permanent basis.
Forster had a successful loan spell with the Bhoys and made 43 appearances this season.  The tall goalkeeper is expected to head back to
the Saint James’s Park after the end of the current season but Lennon wants to keep him at the Celtic Park.
Lennon said, "I think Fraser has been magnificent this season. We will certainly look at that as an option for next season.”
"We haven't spoken to Newcastle yet, but there may be inroads made. That will be further down the line, and whether Newcastle want to sell
or do business with us is another thing. We haven't asked the question yet."
Newcastle United manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew, is also impressed with the goalkeeper’s form on loan, but believes that he still needs time to become
the number one at the club.
