http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550: Manchester United ready to face Manchester City - EPL news
Serbia and Manchester United defender, Nemanja Vidic stated that the Red Devils are ready for their all important derby clash against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final, on Saturday, April 16.
United are having an excellent season as they are looking to grab the UEFA Champions League, the English Premier League and the FA Cup titles.
Vidic claims that the high spending Citizens are obsessed with winning a major trophy but his side are set to prolong their long wait for a title. It has been 35 years since the Blues won a top flight championship and they rarely got close to one during
that time than they are at present.
The Serbian said while speaking to the media, “Manchester City have an obsession about winning a trophy. After the big money they have spent, they want to win their first trophy.”
The defender highlighted his side's success in recent years and believes that the Red Devils have the confidence in their ability to fend off any challenge that comes their way.
“We are playing at the top level. Every team wants to do their best against us. But we will be ready,” added the defender.
Both sides have problems going into the semi-final clash, United are without the services of striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 as the Englishman is suspended for the game. On the other hand, City are without skipper Carlos Tevez, the Argentine has been ruled out because
of a hamstring injury. The former United player sustained the injury in City’s recent 3-0 defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in an English Premier League fixture.
In Tevez’s absence, City are likely to start with Edin Dzeko and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937 upfront. Vidic claims both players have different qualities as Dzeko is a target man and likes to play in the box whereas Balotelli likes to play on the ball and comes from
deep.
Recent results show that United have the momentum on their side and are likely to progress to the FA Cup final, however, Vidic is anticipating a tough match against the Citizens.
