Manchester United defender Patrice Evra wants nonviolent derby against Manchester City
Manchester United left-back, Patrice Evra has pleaded to all the fans of both Manchester United and Manchester City to attend the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley peacefully. The Frenchman is predicating an exciting match between both Manchester outfits and
is hopeful that this Wembley showdown would not be spoiled by an off-field controversy.
Evra said, “I just want to send a message to United and City fans. I hope there will be no trouble off the pitch. We are playing on the pitch and I know and understand the feeling in the game, but everyone should make sure that the game is all about happiness.
Every Mancunian should be proud. United fans and City fans should be proud of the occasion.”
Manchester derby has always been glorified and since Sheikh Mansour’s take over at Eastlands, the hype of this derby has increased a lot. Special measures are being taken by London administration to avoid any kind of mishap during the all Manchester semi-final
at Wembley Stadium.
Moreover, it is also first time that the Red and Blue derby will be played outside Manchester and Patrice Evra wants it to be memorable match for both sets of fans. Furthermore, it would not be wrong to say that this weekend’s derby has every element to
become the most crucial derby of all time, as both teams would look end each other’s season long dreams.
Manchester City are looking well on track to qualify for the UEFA Champions League as they are currently placed fourth in the League, three points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.  Moreover, the Citizens' other target of the season was to win at
least one trophy and now they are only 2 matches short of winning the FA Cup.
While on the other hand, Manchester United are targeting to repeat the feat of 1999 treble winning season in which they won the UEFA Champions League, Barclays Premier League and FA Cup. The Red Devils are leading the Barclays Premier League table with seven
points and strong favourites to lift the crown. Moreover, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men also made it through to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League where they will face Schalke 04.
Manchester United would now have to beat Manchester City at Wembley in order to achieve their goal of winning three different competitions in the ongoing season. But http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 feels that Manchester City have become a stronger force over time and it would
not be easy to claim a victory over them.
“City are stronger than they were before. Now they play to win the league every year. It is different and when everyone sees these matches they expect a big game because something always happens in the derby,” added Evra.
