Manchester United eager to ink extension contract with Antonio Valencia
Manchester United’s star right winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Valencia-c6345, was expected to sign an extension contract with the Red Devils before or in the summer transfer window. Officials have now confirmed that Valencia is on the verge of inking a new contract with United.
This news broke out after Manchester United officials confirmed that the club is ready to sit at the table and negotiate talks over the new extension contract with Valencia. The 25-year-old star winger has shown immaculate form since his return to football.
Last season, Valencia suffered a horrendous tackle which resulted in a long term injury. The United medical team later confirmed that Valencia had broken his ankle and was out for nearly 10 months.
The Ecuadorian surprised everyone when he made a comeback in a mere 6 months after the incident. The most surprising part of his early return was that Valencia was in top notch form from day one.
Though Valencia had been sidelined for nearly half of the season, he has been part of Manchester United’s practice sessions for quite some time before he made his return. This destroyed speculations of Valencia being out for the whole season.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ecuador-c2889 international has surprised everyone with his top class performances, although his performance against Chelsea was not that impressive.
In his recent encounter at Old Trafford, Valencia was running down the right flank, up and down, providing assists and lending an extra hand wherever possible.
However, there was an ugly part to his act where the star showed no mercy in relentless physical tackles. He even went out and took http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 on the right flank. With the youngster picking up to his pinnacle form, numerous European clubs are hunting for
his services.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605, Real Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan have been trying to acquire his services but to no avail as United’s manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, continue to snub all offers. It seems like the Scotsman fears offers from other clubs might snatch away his
prized possession.
This also happens to be one of the reasons why Ferguson wants Valencia to commit to a long term contract with Manchester United.
While talking to the media, a Manchester United official informed, “Valencia has been brilliant since coming back from his injury and United want to get him sorted with a new contract. But there are lots of other clubs showing interest and he knows he's
in a healthy position”.
Valencia came to Manchester United after he inked a contract in 2009 pledging his allegiance to the Red Devils. The transfer from Wigan Athletic is rumoured to be around £16 million, a price that the young player has proven to be worthy of his services.
