“Manchester United failed to satisfy my demands”, says Rooney
The issue of Wayne Rooney has turned into a new phase now. In a very recent statement the veteran English striker has revealed his thoughts and feelings for the Manchester United football club. In the statement Rooney has expressed that he wants to leave
the Man United club because he didn’t receive the assurance from the club’s management that the club would invest on its key players.
It is reported that the statement was released by Rooney on Wednesday in which he explained his thoughts for his football club and explained the reasons about his intentions of leaving the club.
In the statement the 24-year-old ace English striker said that he met the chief executive of the Manchester United football club, David Gill last week regarding the matter of his retirement from the club but Gill didn’t gave him any kind of assurance about
the stars future playing in the club. He added that he told David Gill that he would not be signing a new contract with the club.
It is also reported that the Manchester United football club is currently suffering from some financial issues. It is also to be notified that the Man United club is considered as one of the most profitable and rich football clubs of the world but this year
has not been a good financial year for it as according to an announcement made by the club, it has lost a huge amount of one hundred thirty seven million dollars because of the debts acquired by its American Owners.
According to some critics Rooney’s recent comments might be a result of his issues and insecurities regarding his economic future with the team.
Manchester United has won eighteen English Premier League titles but some of his key players still seem less happy with the club. Last season the Portuguese veteran striker and superstar Christiano Ronaldo left the team and now the episode of Rooney is certainly
not giving a good image of the club’s management as well.
Rooney said in his statement that he was very interested to know about Sir Alex Ferguson’s thoughts about the matter and he was surprised by some of Fergurson’s comments as well. Rooney admitted the fact that he and his agent have met many times with the
club’s top management about his new contract with the club. He added that during the meetings he asked about the assurance of the player’s future and monetary benefits in the club but David Gill failed to satisfy him and that is why he is not willing to sign
a new contract with the club.
Rooney expressed his respect and love for the Man United FC and told that it has been a great honour for him to be a part of such a prestigious football club and he still respects the clubs from the core of his heart. Rooney also praised the role and importance
of Sir Alex Ferguson in the club and said that Sir Alex is a great manager and he has done a lot for the club. He added and said that Sir Alex has helped him out through thick and thin of his professional career and he is a remarkable mentor. Rooney told that
Sir Alex signed him for the Man United club from the Everton football club when he was only eighteen years old. He continued and said that Sir Alex is a genius and he wished he could stay there with the club forever.
