Manchester United feel, Karim Benzema missing link
Manchester United’s in charge and main man who has been checking himself so he doesn’t wreck himself at his tender age, has managed to identify Real Madrid’s out of favor striker, Karim Benzema as the missing piece to the Manchester United puzzle that could lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the season.
Apparently Ferguson will be looking to turn his attention to Benzema after being turned down by Inter Milan and Wesley Sneijder. The Old Trafford manager will make another attempt to sign Benzema after already being turned down once in the past.
He had previously attempted to sign the French striker, right after the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to real Madrid however the striker chose to go to Real Madrid instead where he played alongside Ronaldo last season.
The new manager at Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho has not yet made up his mind on to whether or not he sees Benzema as part of his future Real Madrid squad. He is currently in the process of assessing his current squad and will make up his mind once he is done with that.
If the Special One does decide to sell the striker, than Ferguson will be in a race against time to sign the striker before the close of the transfer window, which will take place at the end of next month.
Manchester United already possess, Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen and the brand new Javier Hernandez along with Fedrico Macheda. But they still feel the unwanted need to have another World Class forward.
Benzema has had more than a disappointing season last term, with Real Madrid in the La Liga. He managed to score just eight goals in the twenty seven appearances he has had for the club which is really poor considering the performances that Benzema is capable of producing. This poor form also saw him being dropped from the terrible French squad that was fielded in the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Benzema has also recently been in and out of scandals away from the football pitch, however he still manages to maintain his reputation of being one of Europe’s most wanted and most capable talents.
On the other hand, Manchester United’s prime summer target, Wesley Sneijder has been persuaded just enough by Inter Milan’s officials to commit his future to staying at the San Siro with Inter Milan for at least another season. Sneijder had one of the best seasons a player could ask for, at Inter Milan last season he managed to win the treble with the club which included the Italian Seire A, the Copa Italia and the European Champions League.
He followed that terrific form in the World Cup where he managed to score five goals against Netherlands but ended up finishing second best behind Spain. This surge of form saw him turn into one of the most wanted talents in Europe. However the player has snubbed United and will clearly not be moving to any club in the coming month as well.
