Manchester United given green light on potential Lassana Diarra move
Manchester United have been given some good news in their pursuit of Real Madrid defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra. Diarra is reported to have warned Madrid coach Jose Mourinho that he wishes to be featured in more games at Madrid,
or he might have to take action to ensure his involvement with the first team.
The player is reported to have said, “I only play once every two matches. I obviously want to play more and if I am not satisfied, I will draw the conclusions.”
“I am not at Real to watch the games. I want to play.”
Manchester United have been long term admirers of the player and are looking to step up their pursuit of the player by launching a bid for him in January. United will however know that the player is not going to come cheap. He
cost the Red Devils as much as twenty million pounds depending on what the situation is like at Madrid at the start of next year.
It is no surprise for anyone to see Diarra warming the bench at Madrid. In the past, numerous players who have made the move to sunny Spain to play at the Bernabeu have been left sitting on the benches hoping that one of their
team mates gets injured or suspended just so they get some field time.
Players like Wesley Sneijder, Arjen Robben and Rafael Van der Vaart have all left the club, because they feared that if they stayed there any longer, their knees would start to rust due to the lack of playing time they got at the
club. However, ever since moving away from the club all those players have managed to get their career up and running once again and are now voted to be amongst the best players in the world once again.
The French midfielder Diarra is fearing that it might not be long before he is dropped to the bench on a permanent basis and is hence looking to move elsewhere as soon as possible. That being said, threatening Jose Mourinho might
have not been the smartest of decisions on the player’s part. The manager does not like being talked down to and the player’s outburst is sure to have a negative reaction in the future.
Manchester United on the other hand might finally get their hands on a decent defensive midfielder and in turn would finally strengthen their weakest link, which just so happens to be their midfield.
