Manchester United hovering over Ashley Young as he delays contract talks with Aston Villa
Aston Villa’s forward and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Young-c6813 has gone on to delay talks with Villa in regards to signing a long term deal with the club. As a result, it seems like Manchester United might have just edged a whole lot closer to landing the
player at the end of the season.
At the moment, Young’s current contract with the club is set to run out at the end of the season, which means that if he doesn’t sign on an extension at the end of this season, Villa might just have to let go of the player
It is no secret that Villa do not want one of their star players to leave the team, but, it would be foolish of them to let him leave for free. This is because considering the current market value of the forward, the team is bound to make a massive income
if they let go of the player at the end of the season.
However, Young has gone on to assure the club that despite his uncertain future at the club, he is going to give his maximum every time he takes to the field and will not hold anything back for the team, considering he still has around half a season to go
as a Villan – at least.
The player is reported to have said, “I have always said I will leave talks until the end of the season and that’s how it is.”
“Every time I pull on the shirt I go out to give 110 per cent for Villa. I am delighted to be playing in the position I am in, just behind the main striker, and doing well for the team.” added Young.
Despite the player having stated his desire to perform at his best for the club, it would not be surprising to see him pull out of a challenge or two, just in hopes of not getting injured. This is because if that does happen, then Young will potentially
blow his chances of making a switch to another club.
At the moment according to most experts, if United are to make a move to land Young at the end of the season, then they are going to have to part ways with around 20-million pounds. However, considering the fact that Alex Ferguson is going to be handed a
handsome transfer kitty to re-build the side at the end of the season, that price might just prove to be affordable for the Red Devils.
