Manchester United legend Eric Cantona praises Wesley Sneijder
Manchester United legend and former French maestro, Eric Cantona has gone on to admit that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wesley-Sneijder-c36799 is one of the best players in the world.
Cantona has gone on to praise Sneijder and has even compared the midfielder to himself. The United legend feels that Sneijder has the same capabilities that he once had and even manages to carry his team forward, just like Cantona used to.
When Cantona was asked about Sneijder and how he felt he was as a player, he responded by stating: "Sneijder is one of the best. He will be great for the team"
Cantona then went on to state that Sneijder was the player that United needed as there was no one out there, who came close to being able to do what he does.
Cantona then added: "He is what Manchester United needs. There's no-one like him right now.”
He then went on to highlight how Sneijder reminded Cantona of him.
"He's strong. Sometimes he reminds me of myself."
Cantona, as we all know is a United legend. The former French international ran the show at Old Trafford from 1992 – 1997 and seemed to be unstoppable, every time he took to the field in a United jersey. During the five years that he spent with the team,
he went on to lift four Premier League crowns and two FA Cup trophies. Just looking at those statistics, we can determine that Cantona was one of the most influential players to ever step foot in the Premier League.
United have been linked with a move for Sneijder for nearly two months now, but so far there has been no real progress from the team, in terms of wrapping up a deal regarding a move for the player.
On the other hand, both the player and United have been dropping massive hints regarding the possibility of a transfer, which despite seeming imminent, still has everyone guessing as to when it will take place.
Cantona, with his latest comments has gone on to become the latest person to get involved in this saga and just like numerous people before him, all he has done is, add fuel to the fire and make it see all the more likely that this move is going to take
place.
United are in desperate need of a new central midfielder and Sneijder is possibly one of the best in the business, in that position.
In theory this move is a match made in heaven and all that can be done now, is to sit back and watch this saga unfold itself.
