Manchester United looking to bank on future stars of Brazil
Manchester United are on the verge of signing 5 Brazilian youngsters and sending them out to partners FC Twente. The five youngsters in question are Gladstony, Aguilar, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 Evangelista, Agnaldo and Rafael Leao. The players in question are reported to be
seen sitting in the stands at the match against Bolton in Manchester United suits.
Historically, South Americans haven’t proven much successful at United – The Red Devils have certainly had their fair share of South American flops. A lot was expected of Kleberson, a Brazilian World Cup winner, but he failed to live up to expectations.
Veron’s career at United wasn’t much different either.
However, in recent years this trend has been changing. Two of United’s penalty takers in 2008 UCL final were South Americans; Anderson and Carlos Tevez. This goes on to show how much things have changed for South Americans under Sir Alex Ferguson. Tevez
was arguably a fan-favourite. Anderson, on the other hand, has had an up and down career so far.
More recently, the exciting Brazilian full-backs Rafael and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 is also a first team regular at United. He had a brilliant
debut season for United last term.
This recent trend is probably the motivation behind United’s decision to capture the cream of South American talent. A few months ago, the Red Devils reached an agreement with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Twente-c39233 to ship out their youngsters to gain experience and most importantly
EU passports.
Recently the club has reached an agreement with the Sao Paolo Academy, Desportivo Brasil. The company’s president of International Business explained the nature of the agreement. He commented, "Manchester United look for young players in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Uruguay-c3035
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paraguay-c2979. If they find a good one they come to us.”
He further added, “We'll get a player, register him with Desportivo Brasil, and we have a contract with United that they have an option to buy this player at 18 for a fixed amount”
The aforementioned could potentially pave the way for a host of new potential South American superstars to ply their trade at one of the biggest clubs in the world. United have certainly been encouraged by the improved fortunes of South American players
at the club. It’s safe to say that now we’ll be watching a lot more of South America’s top young talent playing in the Premier League.
To conclude, could any of these 5 kids prove to be the next big thing? However, with that said, it is a big statement of intent on United’s part that they are ready to go all the way to secure the best talent from a continent they haven’t had much success
from in the past.
