Manchester United looking to bring in Brazilian wonder kids
Manchester United, have gone ahead and set their sights on two upcoming young Brazilian internationals. Manchester United’s manager, Alex Ferguson is hoping to bring the two players that he has targeted into the side as early as January. The players who
the manager wishes to lure to Old Trafford are Barcelona’s centre back Henrique and Shakhtar Donetsk’s attacking midfielder, Douglas Costa. The manager wishes to sign the players in hopes of making them future prospects at the club.
Henrique arrived at the Camp Nou way back in 2008, but is yet to become a part of Pep Guardiola’s first team. So far the player has spent major chunks of his career at Barcelona away on loan at Bayer Leverkusen and at Racing Santander. The defender is however
still considered to be one of the hottest prospects in the world at the moment and has admitted that he would relish the opportunity to play in the Premier League. Also having failed to persuade Barcelona to make him a part of their first team, it might just
be the best thing for the player to leave the team.
Douglas Costa on the other hand has been linked with a move to the Premier League on countless occasions in the past. He has been a long term prospect for both Arsenal and Manchester United. Despite the fact that he made the move to join Shakhtar Donetsk
in January, he is still looking to move away from the team as early as he can.
The duo, if brought into United would set the team back around twenty two million pounds mark, however that is if the teams are willing to let go of the players, otherwise United might just have to fork out a whole lot more cash.
With this transfer news coming out, it seems like Alex Ferguson has changed his tactics in the transfer market, the manager now is no longer looking to purchase well established players, but instead is opting to go the Arsenal way and lure future prospects
to the club. This could be because the manager has finally realized that his current team is aging fast and sooner or later he might run out of first team players to field, which is exactly why he has turned his attention to the younger players, who can prove
to be the future of the club.
The two players might also prove to be just the players that United have been on the lookout for. The team is currently suffering a shortage of centre backs and at the same time, United really don’t have any replacements for the outgoing Paul Scholes.
Ferguson in the past has not been very successful while scouting the younger players, since he strongly relies on the youth system at the club to produce the quality youngsters that he can incorporate into the team. Nonetheless the manager thinks that he
might just strike gold this time around. This is because both the players have abundant talent and since they are yet to play on the greatest possible scale in the footballing world, they would be rearing to go once they make move to Old Trafford.
