Manchester United looking to bring in French midfield magician
Manchester United's manager Alex Ferguson is rumoured to be looking to make a move for French international and current Lyon player, Yoann Gourcuff. Manchester United have been in desperate need of some positive midfield options
and a move for the French international in January seems to be just what the manger feels might get the team back to their winning ways once again.
Gourcuff was signed by Lyon only in August but has so far failed to really settle into the side. In fact the player’s move to the club has ended in a major catastrophe as the once giants of French football happen to find themselves
in the seventeenth spot in the French league. This is by no means acceptable by the side, who will be looking to get back to their winning ways as soon as possible, even if that means getting rid of players who were brought in only a couple of months ago.
The French side has managed to get only two wins from eight matches so far this season and are a whopping ten points behind the current leaders of the league. Gourcuff has also emerged a former shadow of himself as he has had disappointing
performance after the other. The player has also claimed that he is not very happy at the club and perhaps the best possible move for him would be one that saw him leave the team.
Things could however not look any better for the French player, as at the same time Ferguson is looking to reshape his United midfield. The current midfield at United is falling apart, with players like Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs
nearing their retirement ages and the other midfielders at the club looking to be nothing more than third grade material. The manager is looking to go to the market with a mega bid for the French midfield genius as early as January.
Gourcuff has the pace, the vision and the quality to play in the Premier League, without any question. He has easily been one of the best midfielders in recent history and could do wonders at United; it is however a matter of
waiting to see if the move will actually ever go through now. There will be countless United fans hoping with their fingers crossed that the deal does happen, so that they could see their side retain its former glory once again.
