Ashley Young says that Manchester United want to win the Europa League and the English Premier League to consider their season a successful one....
After transferring to Manchester United in the previous summer transfer window, Young has had a hard time winning over the Old Trafford fans so far. A lot of his time at the new club has been spent on the sidelines due to his injury
issues but the Englishman is determined to make his debut season at Manchester United into a successful one.
Recently, Young made a comeback to the Manchester United first team by netting the first goal of the match against Ajax Amsterdam in United’s round of 32 tie against the Dutch giants in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 as a part of their Europa League
commitments.
United were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League in the group stages which surprised many people but now their focus has shifted to league and Europa League football and Young says that the team is aiming to win both the competitions
that they are in at the moment to make their season into a successful one.
The Red Devils are still two points behind Manchester City who are at the top of the Premier League table courtesy of their fine form this season. Both the clubs are scheduled to meet in the latter stages of April but till then
anything can happen as both of them have some tough fixtures in the Premier League calendar.
Young said in his latest interview, "Winning the title race and winning this competition [the Europa League] is what we would consider a successful season. That's what we're involved in and that's what we want to do. It's the biggest
team in the world and you always want to beat the big teams. It's like a cup final for other teams, especially at Old Trafford. So we know there's always pressure. It's how you deal with it."
He added, "Every game is going to be a tough game from here. As long as we go out there, concentrate on ourselves and produce the sort of performances that have been coming in the last few weeks it will be good enough to win the
title."
