Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson praises http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918
Manchester United went on to complete a flawless tour of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034, by picking up their fourth pre season victory. The team went on to beat the MLS All Stars, as the Red Devils went on to cruise past them to a four goals to nil victory.
The All Star team consisted of former United legend, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 and former Arsenal goal scoring machine, Thierry Henry.
United manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson has gone on to admit that irrelevant of what team Henry plays for, he has always been a threat to United. Ferguson made these comments remembering the havoc that the forward used to cause, back when he led the line for the Gunners.
Ferguson, when talking about Henry, following the conclusion of the game is reported to have said: "He’s always a big concern with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, always a great threat to us"
"I think he’s one of the few players that has scored regularly against us."
The manager then went on to add that despite playing in the MLS and entering his thirties, the forward still had what it took to run riot, especially considering the fact that he has unmatchable experience.
The United boss added: “Well, he’s still got that change of pace, and he’s always a threat because of it. And his experience, he showed his experience again tonight. He’s had a great career.”
The manager then ended by stating that the player was definitely a role model to the younger players and in generally. He admitted that the forward had lived a very professional life and never let any off field antics get in his way.
"I think that’ll always be the case. His time there was fantastic and he’s always been a good role model in how he holds himself, as a footballer and a human being. He’s never wavered from that type of professionalism that you need to achieve that status."
It seems like Ferguson has finally gone on to praise Henry, following years of holding his feelings for the player in. The manager had almost seen the best from the forward, when he was racking goals against his club and for that reason, he had to be very
content on what he said about the player.
With Henry now in the MLS and not playing for a team that competes with United, Ferguson felt the need to express himself and did so, rather professionally.
It is very rare to see someone in the position that Ferguson is in, to go on and praise a player from an opposing team, without having any ulterior motives. These words are bound to end up giving Henry a massive confidence boost and could even cause him
to step his game up, for the New York Red Bulls.
