Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson: We win against Chelsea, we win the title
Ahead of their crucial clash against Chelsea on Sunday, May 8, Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson is confident that his side will win the title if they beat the London Blues.
The battle on Sunday looks certain to be a last twist in the tale, as Manchester United prepare to take on Chelsea, knowing that a loss in the game will see them drop to the second spot in the league table, with just 2 games left to
play.
Having already lost the title last year to Chelsea by a solitary point, United will be hoping that they do not repeat the same mistake again as they are chasing a record 19th English League title.
If United beat Chelsea, they will go six points clear in the title race and will be the overwhelming favourites to win the title. Even a draw will suit the Red Devils as they will open a 4-point cushion at the top. However, if they
lose the game, they will surrender the top spot to Chelsea on goal difference, and that will leave the fans with an enticing prospect of the two teams trying to outscore each other in their remaining two fixtures of the season.
"Everyone's aware of the magnitude of Sunday's game and it's one we're looking forward to, Last Sunday's result has certainly brought an awareness to us of how important this game is and I think it's one of the reasons I had to pick
the team I did on Wednesday. It's given us a fresh team for Sunday. It should be a fantastic match and if we win, we should win the league." Said Ferguson in his pre-match press conference.
Chelsea beat United in the corresponding fixture last season with goals from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044, on their way to the Premier League title. This year though, United’s form at home has been formidable as they have not lost a
single game at Old Trafford, dropping only two points.
"Our home form is a big advantage. That's the reason we're there [on top].It's probably the best in Europe. Some of our performances at home have been absolutely terrific. Hopefully we get the result we want." Said Ferguson about his
team’s home form.
