Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson considers Chelsea main threat to title ambitions
Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, has admitted that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 rather than Arsenal are now their main title rivals.
United are sitting on top of the Premier League table with a six-point lead over both Arsenal and Chelsea. However, the Blues have a better goal difference than Arsene Wenger’s side, which gives them the second place on the league table. Ferguson believes
that the Gunners have better players than the Blues but at this stage of the league it is the experience that matters and Carlo Ancelotti’s side has an edge over the Arsenal squad in terms of experience.
Talking to the reporters Ferguson said, "I said a few weeks ago that Chelsea would be our main challengers. Now they are above Arsenal. I have that slight preference for Chelsea because their fixture list is a wee bit easier but they have to come to Old
Trafford and that's not going to be easy for them. Chelsea are far more experienced than Arsenal.”
The Scott further added, "Chelsea are a strong team with strong experience. That's the difference between the two teams. Arsenal are the better footballers but Chelsea are the better, stronger team.”
The 69-year-old admitted that Chelsea were favourites to defend their title before the start of the 2010/11 season but their mid-season slump helped United take control of the top spot. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scotland-c756 manager believes that every team enters into a slump
but luckily for his team, Chelsea’s fall was too big and his team grasped the opportunity with both hands.
With only five matches left to play in the league, Ferguson has urged his team to take every game as a must win. The Scott believes that the fixture list for the remaining matches is beneficial for Chelsea but they still have to visit Old Trafford, which
is not an easy task for any side in the world.
United will play Everton in their next league match on Saturday, April 23rd, 2011. Ferguson has warned his troops that David Moyes’s team is a very determined side and despite missing some of their key men, they have not lost a game in their last
seven matches.
