Manchester United manager Sir Alex Manager to answer a lot of questions
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is expected to be answerable to the British media over his relationship with unsettled striker Wayne Rooney. There has been a lot of rumours surrounding the 24-year-old, following his contradictions with the statement
of manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
The player stated that he had no issues with his ankle this season, going against the claims made by Sir Alex Ferguson, who declared that Rooney was suffering from an ankle concern this season. The manager used this reason behind dropping him in fixtures
against Valencia and Sunderland. Owing to this, it seems that the 24-year-old has expressed his desire to move from the club, with Manchester City being the potential buyers of the player.
The reason why Manchester City is being looked up to buying the striker is because they may be the only club who can afford the services of the 24-year-old. Spanish Giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have invested heavily in the summer and just don’t have
the place for the PFA Player of the year. In Italy, Milan have already signed forwards Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Robinho, while Inter cannot afford the wage demands of the 24-year-old. However, selling off Rooney would create chills among the United supporters
as Carlos Tevez has become somewhat of star at Manchester City since his departure. The player scored 26 times in all competitions last season and has scored 7 league goals in six appearances so far.
United are also not in the top of forms this season, as they currently are 4th, 5 points shy of premier league champions Chelsea. The side has already managed 5 draws out of 8 fixtures so far in the league so Rooney’s departure wouldn’t help that
cause. However, the 24-year-old has expressed his desire to move to the Eastlands, and City would accept the striker on any cost. It would be a dark day for the Red Devils when both Tevez and Rooney become the main reason behind them loosing points in the
league and ultimately drop out of the race for their 19th first division title.
However, it can also be believed that Rooney may be playing “hard to get”, and maybe fuelling speculations in order to force out money of Manchester United. The player seems unhappy with the wage offered by the club after the World Cup and can be using this
way in order to get a pay in the region of 140,000-160,000 pounds a week. Yet, that can hardly be the case as Rooney seems genuinely disturbed and dejected on the pitch, which has greatly affected the form of the player. Rooney scored 34 times last season
but has so far scored once in the premier league, that too from the penalty spot.
This, along with allegations of his private life has created a rift between the manager and the player, who seems keen to offload the player in the winter transfer window.
A lot of questions need answers and it is hoped that Manchester United manager would shed some light on this issue. .
"We have to find the balance between attack and defence. I definitely feel we have it in us and I am sure it will come. It is about the whole team. You feel better when you are winning and scoring goals. When you keep a clean sheet you have more belief and
confidence”, claimed the United manager.
United face Turkish Champions Bursapor in the Champions league tomorrow and whether Rooney would feature in the match remains a doubt.
