Manchester United talismanic midfielder, Darren Fletcher, has a possibility to feature in United’s second last match of the season against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday, May 14th.
Fletcher has been on the sidelines since March, suffering from virus and as a result of which the Scottish midfielder has lost significant weight that has proved difficult to recover.
Initially, it was believed that the Scottish skipper will not feature again this season, however, his rapid recovery from the virus implies that Fletcher could still play in United’s colours.
Darren Fletcher recently played for United’s reserve game against Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford and showed no signs of illnesses. The Red Devils lost the match by 2-1 and Fletcher was not happy with the result, as it cost United an overall reserve league
title.
Fletcher said, “Minutes on the pitch are important. But I am disappointed with the result. As a first-team player I wanted to put in a good shift for them and I am disappointed as everyone else by the outcome”.
However, Darren Fletcher has been declared fit by Manchester United medical squad and will now set to return against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
The Red Devils defeated second-placed Chelsea last week and now need only one point to clinch the record 19th Premier League title. Darren Fletcher has already won three Barclays Premier League titles with Manchester United and has now set his
sight on claiming his fourth League medal.
Fletcher added, “We still have to get that point. We still have a job to do. The Chelsea result has set us up but we want to win the match”.
