Manchester United midfielder, Darren Fletcher, has signed a new four year contract with United on Friday morning. Under the new contract, Fletcher will be Manchester United’s property till the end of 2014/15 season.
United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said, "Darren has been at the club since he was 15. I am extremely proud that he came through the ranks of our youth academy and am delighted Darren has signed a new contract. He has developed into a top-class midfielder.''
Fletcher added to his coach’s comments, "I take great pride in playing for Manchester United. I have won many trophies in my years playing here and I am looking forward to winning many more in the seasons to come. I would like to thank everyone at the club.''
Fletcher has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the game with some brilliant performances in big games. The Scott has been a consistent performer in the last three seasons and is the first name on the team sheet for Alex Ferguson.

role forced Ferguson to use him as a central midfielder.
In his early years with the United, Roy Keane, doubted Fletcher’s talent and said that he was not worthy of playing for United. Keane was forced to take his words back after Fletcher recognized himself as a regular member of the United team, after a string
of consistent performances in key games.
Fletcher has made 287 appearances for Manchester United and has scored 21 goals so far. He scored his first goal for United in a 2-0 Premier league win over Middlesbrough on 1st January 2005.
Fletcher has helped United in winning three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, two Carling Cups, UEFA Champion’s League and FIFA Club World Cup. He was also named in the PFA Premier League team of the year in the 2009/10 season.
