Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes says he is looking forward to facing Fulham at Old Trafford on Saturday, 9th April, and wants to score more goals in the ongoing 2010-11 Barclays Premier League season.
The veteran midfielder wants to get on the scoring sheet for United on a consistent basis. Scholes has scored only one goal this season, which came against Fulham when the two sides met earlier this term. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 midfielder smashed a powerful strike from long-range to open the scoring in that game.
Scholes told reporters, “I’ve managed to score a couple against Fulham, including this season away from home. My only goal of this season, in fact. I’d like to score more goals obviously. One goal in a season isn’t enough really. But yes, I’ve had ups and downs against Fulham."
United have won 14 out of their 15 home games this season and the midfielder has hailed the team's form at Old Trafford.
The United midfielder added, “At home, I think we’ve done quite well against them – I can’t remember having too many problems with them at Old Trafford. I hope it can be the same again this time, although we know the quality they have in their team.”
The 36-year-old has advised his team not to take Fulham for granted as they are a talented team. He stressed that every game from now on would be difficult and each result would have an impact on the final standings. Scholes added that nobody expected Bolton Wanderers to produce such a wonderful performance two weeks back, and feels that his team were lucky to find an 88th minute winner from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254.
He added that Fulham would come out with the same attacking mentality and have got some great players in their team who could surprise anyone.
Scholes is expected to play an important role in United’s chances of winning the treble, as manager Sir Alex Ferguson will look to rotate the squad because of a hectic fixture schedule.
