Manchester United on the brink of landing Alexis Sanchez
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson is reported to have taken a giant step forward in his pursuit to land young Chilean winger, Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez, who currently plays for Udinese in the Serie A has been one of the highest rated talents over the
last few months, and as a result has often been linked with a move away from the club. With the way things are going at the moment, he could finally be heading out to Old Trafford.
Sanchez started to attract attention mainly after this summer’s World Cup in South Africa, where he proved to be one of the best emerging players in the tournament. Despite the fact that the likes of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo were also involved
in the tournament, Sanchez still managed to stand out with his strong performances. As a result he was expected to make the move to a much bigger club in Europe, but nothing materialised and Sanchez stayed on at Udinese.
However the players’ agent Fernando Felicevich was recently reported to have said, “I don’t think he will move in the January transfer window, but maybe in the summer. We will see.”
Felicevich added, “Yes, they [Manchester United] are watching him, and it could be a possibility in the future. I have heard that another Premier League club also enquired, but they didn’t contact me.”
“For the time being the only thing I have heard is from Manchester United. The Premier League is a very interesting destination for Alexis Sanchez but it is only Manchester at the moment,” Alexis' agent concluded.
This just proves that United are hot on the tail of the player, due to the simple fact that the players agent didn’t even consider mentioning any other team who was looking to land the player. On the other hand Sanchez could also probably be the perfect
player to help United fill in the vacant space on the right wing due to the injured Antonio Valencia.
According to the pundits, if United do decide to make an official bid for the player, it would cost them around sixteen million pounds to land the player.
