Benfica’s Nicolas Gaitan claims that he is unfazed with speculation linking him with a switch to Old Trafford and revealed that he was currently focused on his career with the Eagles.
The 24-year-old is widely believed to be on the radar of Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-Scholes-c29394. The Englishman, who has dominated the Premier League for the last twenty years, returned to the first team fold after suddenly
retiring last year.
However despite his miraculous comeback it is thought that United will not offer him fresh deal and will instead turn to the transfer market, in order to fill the void in the centre of the park.
Fergie has seemingly set his sights on Gaitan, who has been highly impressive during Benfica’s superb run in the UEFA Champions League.
Alongside the Red Devils, Manchester City have also expressed interest in luring the attacker to the Premier League.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-De-Rossi-c10112 has left the Italian with few options and despite the likes of Toure and Nasri in his ranks, the tactician feels that there is still room for more midfield talent at the helm.
United, though, want the player more than City and the rumour mill has been in full swing in recent weeks, which eventually led to Gaitan saying that all the speculation did not have any effect on his performances on the field.
"Every now and again I am linked to a big club in the Premier League. I am used to the rumours by now and it doesn't affect my work at Benfica. Manchester United? A great club, what more can I say?"
He also added that his side had the quality to eliminate Roberto di Matteo’s Blues despite their recent surge in form.
"This year we have already knocked out Manchester United when everyone had the English team as favourites. Why shouldn't we be able to repeat the story against Chelsea?"
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have improved over the last few weeks with the change of coach, but Benfica aren't worried about that.Chelsea are not invincible and we have the ability to get through this tie,” he said.
Benfica take on the Londoners at Estadio da Luz today in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
