Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic claims that criticism against United spurred them to win the title
Manchester United talismanic skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550, has stated that the criticism against United has prompted them to win the Barclays Premier League in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
The Red Devils’ skipper admitted that the criticism against Manchester United has motivated them to win the title and to establish themselves as the most successful English club by overhauling Liverpool’s record of 18 League titles.
Vidic told the reporters, “Criticism can help a team. Back in early season there were people always trying to compare this team to other United teams. They were saying we didn't have the individuals like we used to and that we weren't as good”.
“Sometimes criticism can help a side. It can drag you forward. You have to work harder to prove to your critics that anything they say is not true. It pushes you to work harder.  If we win the title, we will have proved to everyone that we are a very good
team and will have proved them wrong”, added the Serbian defender.
Since the beginning of the ongoing 2010-11 season, Manchester United has been highly criticised for not having top quality players which other United’s squad used to have in the past two decades.
Despite enjoying a 29-match unbeaten run in the Barclays Premier League, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have been panned for their highly unimpressive away form since the start of the campaign.
However, Manchester United silenced all their critics by churning positive results in the second half of the season in which they marked remarkable comeback victories over Blackpool and West Ham United to cement their place at the top of the Barclays Premier
League table.
Manchester United recently defeated second placed Chelsea to increase the lead to six points at the top of the Barclays Premier League table.
The Red Devils are now only a point shy of winning the Barclays Premier League title with two matches remaining in the season.
United will be crowned Champions of England for the record 19th time if they even manage to get a draw against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park this weekend.
