Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic puts the celebration party on hold – EPL news
Manchester United defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nemanja-Vidic-c27550, claims that he will only start celebrating when it is mathematically impossible for second placed Chelsea to overtake the Red Devils in the English Premier League table.
Very few have their reservations that the Red Devils will be the Premier League champions at the end of the ongoing 2010/11 season after their 2-1 victory over title rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in a crucial Premier League fixture at Old Trafford on May 8, 2011.
Javier Hernandez and Vidic were on target for United and Frank Lampard’s second-half goal proved a mere consolation for the Blues.
The United skipper said, "We will only start to celebrate when we have the trophy. A big part of the job is done but it is not finished.”
The victory for Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s men means that they top the EPL standings and have a six point lead over the Blues with only two rounds of fixtures remaining in the campaign.
It is still possible for Chelsea to retain the Premier League title, however, the chances of that happening are very remote. The Red Devils need only a point from the games against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and Blackpool to add the 2011 league crown to the Old Trafford
trophy cabinet.
Vidic has stated that his team will be looking collect maximum points rather than settle for a draw when the Red Devils travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn on May 14, 2011.
The Serbian said, “A draw would be enough but Manchester United do not play like that. We always try to win and Saturday will be no different. We know Blackburn are a good side on their own ground. We drew there last year. They are strong, so we will have
be prepared if we are to win the league."
The position that United are in at the moment is largely attributed to their home record; the Red Devils have dropped just two points at Old Trafford all season, against West Bromwich Albion in October, 2010.
At present the Red Devils and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 are locked on 18 league titles each and if United get a favourable result from their next fixture, they will become the most successful team in English football history by claiming the 19th league crown.
