Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov set to return against Arsenal
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 will return in United’s next match against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium on 1st May.
Dimitar Berbatov, who is Barclays Premier League top goal scorer in the ongoing season with 21 goals to his name, has not played since Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat against Manchester City in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Wembley. The Bulgarian striker sustained groin injury and was initially feared that he would not be able to feature again in this season.
However, after missing two matches Dimitar Berbatov has been declared fit to play against Arsenal on Sunday. Berbatov’s return will now provide Manchester United with plenty of attacking options as both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 and Javier Hernandez are also enjoying their peak form.
Sir Alex Ferguson told the reporters, “Berbatov’s trained all week. He had a slight groin strain and missed the last two games but he’s available”.
Moreover, Ferguson also confirmed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 on March 6.
However, Fletcher played 45 minutes for Manchester United reserves against Arsenal two days ago and Sir Alex Ferguson was delighted to have the Scottish international back.
Sir Alex said, “Darren Fletcher played 45 minutes [against Arsenal reserves on Thursday evening] and he’s come through it fine. I’ll possibly include him in Wednesday’s game [against Schalke], maybe get 45 minutes out of him. He’s put the weight back on, he’s working hard in the gymnasium so it’s a great addition this time of year having missed him for a couple of months”.
It is very unlikely that Fletcher will be named in 15-man squad to play against Arsenal this weekend. However, the Scottish international can be deployed against Schalke in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-final on next Wednesday.
