Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez backs Wayne Rooney to shine against Chelsea
Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has warned Chelsea that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 is ready to destroy their UEFA Champions League ambitions.
Chelsea will host Manchester United in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening.
Rooney inspired a remarkable comeback against West Ham United over the weekend, after the Red Devils went 2-0 down in the first half of the game and managed to win 4-2 courtesy Rooney’s 25-minute hat-trick in the second half.
However, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 hitman was charged with an improper conduct when he used foul language in front of the camera and was handed a two-match ban by the Football Association.
Hernandez believes that the ban will make Rooney stronger and he will be motivated to perform in the crucial upcoming tie.
“Wayne is in sensational form and this is an extra problem for Chelsea. He really wants to score in the London leg and he is super motivated for this one. The manager wants us to create a lot of chances in the away leg and make sure we score so we can tackle
the return leg with more options,” said Hernandez.
He added, “The side with the best set of forwards will reach the semi-finals. Chelsea have an excellent attack, but our forwards are better.  That defeat by Chelsea in the league wasn't just. Our win over West Ham has improved our morale - it means we are
much better placed to win the League.”
Rooney, who has been the subject of huge criticism for his form in the ongoing 2010-11 season, has been troubled by a host of on-field and off-the-field issues. However, the 25-year-old has been finding his lost form slowly and steadily and has managed to
score 12 goals so far in the current campaign.
Hernandez went on to say that the Red Devils’ strike force is better than Chelsea. The Mexican is likely to partner Rooney upfront at Stamford Bridge and will look to create problems for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 defence with his clever pace and movement.
