Manchester United attacker Javier Hernandez has sent a warning to Chelsea by saying that Stamford Bridge will witness an ‘extra-motivated’ Wayne Rooney in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final on 6 April, 2011.
The Mexican striker insisted Rooney is desperate to score against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and wants to mark a first win for Manchester United in over 9 years at the venue.
Hernandez said, “Wayne is in sensational form and this is an extra problem for Chelsea. He really wants to score in the London leg and he is super motivated for this one. The manager wants us to create a lot of chances in the away leg and make sure we score
so we can tackle the return leg with more options.”
Hernandez, also known as Chicharito, admitted that Chelsea have one of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/The-Strongest-c40725 attacks in the Europe but insisted that the Manchester United strikers have an edge over them. Hernandez claimed that all of his teammates are fired up for the Stamford
Bridge showdown and are fully motivated to produce a shock by triumphing over Chelsea in London.
“Chelsea have an excellent attack, but our forwards are better. Mentally we are very calm about facing Chelsea in Europe. We want to strike a blow at Stamford Bridge. That would be magnificent,” added the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mexico-c2956 international.
Wayne Rooney has recently been handed a two-match ban by the Football Association for using abusive language at a TV camera after he completed his hat-trick in a historic comeback win over West Ham United at Upton Park on Sunday. However, the ban will not
affect Rooney’s participation in the UEFA Champions League match against the Blues.
Rooney, who was named PFA Player of the Year for scoring 35 goals for Manchester United, has failed to reignite his goalscoring form this term and only scored thrice in the first half of the ongoing 2010-11 season. However, it seems like the Manchester United
striker is rediscovering his peak and his recent match-winning hat-trick is a proof of that.
Moreover, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 striker has an exceptional record against Chelsea and he even scored in United’s defeat at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League in the current season.
It will be for the first time Chelsea and Manchester United face each other in the European competition since the UEFA Champions League 2008 final at Moscow, which United won on penalties.
Rooney is expected to start against Chelsea ahead of Javier Hernandez and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254 despite scoring only once in his last five European appearances.
