Manchester United striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 suffers another injury set-back
It is believed that Manchester United forward Michael Owen has suffered yet another injury set back, following a groin injury suffered while training in Carrington.
The former English International now has to undergo scans to determine the extent of his injury and would play no part in the FA Cup tie against non-league side Crawley town. The FA cup match was Owen’s chance to play and prove himself to the manager for
regular appearances, as United were all set to play their second string against Crawley.
The injury would be bad news for the manager and the player himself, whose future looks bleak at the club. Having joined Manchester United free, two seasons ago, Owen has remained a bench-warmer and his constant hamstring concerns have already made him miss
most of the current season. The player has just taken part in 6 games for Manchester United this season, scoring once.
It is now expected that two of the strikers Dimitar Berbatov, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736, Bebe and Javier Hernandez would be given the nod against the Crawley Town.
Michael Owen’s days at the club seem to be numbered, as the player has shown no consistency in his performances and has suffered one injury set back after the other.
The striker played in the Carling Cup final last year and despite scoring the equalising goal, was forced off the pitch owing to a hamstring concern, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
Fans would remember him with just one memory, when he scored a last-gasp goal against Manchester City last season at Old Trafford, to win the fixture 4-3.
With the likes of Wayne Rooney, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-Welbeck-c10233 expected
to be back by the end of the season, the 31-year-old should considering switching to another club where he can get more regular opportunities. Once the 'wonder boy' of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 is now heading towards the dying moments of his illustrious career and should
consider how much more his body can take before eventually calling it a day.
