Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney admits that he is fully fit again - English Premier League update
Manchester United striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 has admitted that he is fully fit again after a troublesome last 12 months. Rooney scored 32 goals for the Red Devils last season but he has been able to find the net on only nine occasions in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Rooney has performed below par on most occasions but he is slowly and steadily coming back to his best and his wonderful overhead kick goal against Manchester City last month proved it.
Rooney believes that his return to form has to do with his full recovery from injury. "I feel sharp and fit again, when I first got back playing for about two months I was still very aware of my ankle. It still felt weak so it had been on my mind,” Rooney
said. "But now I am going in for tackles and am twisting and turning. It is fully mended and 100% now. I am happy that is off my mind now."
Rooney also rejected questions over his devotion for the club. Reports in the media said that Rooney will be shown the exit door at Old Trafford after falling out with manager Sir Alex Ferguson, despite pledging his future with the club for next five years.
"I saw (those reports), but I've never seen such rubbish in my life," he said. "My relationship with Sir Alex has no problems whatsoever. I'm enjoying my football here and if I was going to leave in the summer I wouldn't have signed a new contract when I
did. I've signed it and I intend to see it through to the end.”
Rooney showed his anger towards the news and said that he was unaware of it and heard the rumours on the streets.
He regards Alex Ferguson as a fatherly figure and has no problems with the Scott whatsoever. The 25-year-old revealed that if he wished to leave than he would not have signed an extension to his existing contract in November last year.
