Manchester United striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 apologises for doubting their winning credentials
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has admitted that he was wrong to question the quality of the Red Devils’ squad, which is on course to win the UEFA Champions League and English Premier League in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
United have one foot in the Champions League final, after beating Schalke 04 2-0 in the first-leg of the semi-final at the Veltins-Arena on Tuesday. Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are on top of the Premier League table with a six-point lead over the second placed

Rooney handed a transfer request in November 2010 and refused to sign a new contract stating that the club is no longer satisfying his ambitions. Ferguson, who is known to have a huge ego, has let every player go in the past whenever one feels dissatisfied
at the club. However, the United manager did not let his prized striker leave Old Trafford and convinced him to sign a new long-term contract.
The former Everton striker has admitted his mistake and believes that he was wrong with what he did six months back. The striker has apologised to everyone at United and revealed that he is 100 percent committed to the club and has planned to stay here for
life.
Talking to the reporters Rooney said, “When I look at it now, how wrong was I! Obviously I made a mistake. I admitted that and apologised, and I've wanted to prove myself again to the United fans. I feel I'm doing that now. I'm 100 per cent committed to
this club.”
“It's been a lot different in the second half of the season. I'm a lot happier in my life and happier with the way I'm playing. It's been like settling down again. I'm very grateful to the fans for supporting me through it and I'm delighted with my form,”

Rooney had a very unsettling start to the current season due to both on-field and off-the-field issues. However, United’s talisman has regained his lost form and is playing a huge role in guiding his side to glory. The striker is desperate to win a double
of Premier League and Champions League this season.
